The Island of Kauai

WE ARE HOME!!! What a fun time we had.  I even got to celebrate my birthday in paradise.
If there is one thing that I learned while we were on vacation, it would be that I SUCK at taking pictures.  I didn't take very many pictures while we were there, which I am kicking myself in the pants for.
For crying-out-loud it was Sammy's first real vacation.  Anyway.....

Isn't this beautiful.  Believe it or not this was the swimming pool that was at the condos that we stayed at.    If you ever go to Kauai and want to do know where to stay try this place out it was awesome.

Sammy's first time in a swimming pool.

We had to paint our toes for the beach.

Wailua Falls
It had a rainbow at the bottom of the falls the whole time we were there, it was so pretty.

This was a botanical garden that we went to.  It was amazing as you can tell.
This was the start to a wonderful birthday.

Another smaller waterfall in the garden.
I think this is the only picture I got of the three of us together.

We forgot to take her little hat with us to the garden.
She still looked super cute in a big UTAH hat.

These orchids were the only ones on this huge tree.
(I didn't pick them I just pulled them down to take a pic)

This is was the biggest Avocado I have ever seen.  To really get a feel of how big it is, look at how small my sister-in-laws hand is compared to it.

I had to take Sammy's picture by this news stand to prove that she really was in Hawaii. :)

This is the end to a wonderful birthday.
This was after the Smith Family Luau.  It was awesome.
Best birthday ever.

This place has the best hot dogs.  Go here to really get a feel of what they are like.
My brother-in-law Wally and I were trying to figure out how we could bring them to Utah.
They look gross but they are really good.

Kipu Falls
This was a waterfall that you could jump off of.  There was also a cool rope-swing.

Colby coming back to where I was with the baby.

Well that is pretty much it, pretty pathetic on the photo taking.  I guess we were just having to much fun for me to remember to take pictures.  Oh well.

Baby Einstein

Samantha has been enjoying Baby Einstein.  I didn't really want to go out and buy a whole bunch of DVD of baby movies, so I just bring up our trusty YouTube and she watches them that way.  She also loves it when I pull up Pandora.com and puts it on Nursery Rhymes for her to listen to.

This is a picture I took of her watching Baby Einstein on the computer.

So comfy, this way she doesn't have to hold up her head.

Tax Time...

A lot of people hate this time of the year when we have to do taxes.  Some of you may have to pay the government, but for us we are lucky enough to get money back.  Some of you are probably smart with your money that you get back and pay bills or even invest it somewhere.  For us we like to reward ourself for all the hard work that we did the previous year.
This year we are going to take some of our tax return to bask in the sun in Hawaii.  I was getting so excited to leave I had to try Samantha's swimming suite on her.  She got this at one of the showers I had when I was pregnant.
Thanks aunt Kiwi, she is going to look so cute on the beach.

I had to put on the two hats that she has.  The dark pink one is a little small.  She has a bit of a big head.

Holiday's

Every Christmas season you have to go see the lights at temple square.

Doesn't the temple look amazing

My good looking husband

Me and Krista (my sister from another mister)
I don't know that I have ever been to temple square at Christmas time when they put Mary and Joesph on the refection pond. I was really pretty.

The three of us

It is a tradition in both mine and Colby's family to do the nativity with all of the grandkids. Samantha got to be the baby Jesus on both sides.

The Lewis nativity

The Paxton nativity

Samantha's first Christmas. She is so excited can't you tell

Present from Santa she was so excited to have a present to open on Christmas Day!!

She was so surprised. It was just what she wanted.

You always have to put your kids in one crazy Christmas outfits.
I won't be able to do this for every much longer.
Do you remember this shirt that Samantha has been wearing all month long....well it is 100% true. Look above what Santa got her and then look below at what the grandparents got her.

She is going to have so much fun with all of these toys as soon as she can sit up and hold thing in her hands.

Now this is what the 3 of us look like now that the holidays are over. It sure was fun while we were going to all of the parties but we sure are pooped.
