The Annual Nelson Halloween Party!!!
Colby's sister does a Halloween Party every year with their friend and some of the family, this year it was on October 32rd AKA November 1st. The theme of the party (as you can see from the invitation below) was TACKY PROM.
Colby and I didn't want to go as the traditional big puffy sleeved dress and the nasty suite with the ruffly dress shirt. So.....we brain storming and we can up with the idea of going as an Amish couple.
Take a look below to see all of the crazy costumes that people came up with.

We didn't quite get a couple shot of Amy and Mike but here is Amy in one of her high school dresses. (it was so funny.... she was wearing a picture of herself when she was 16 wearing this dress)
Spencer and KimIn their good old tacky promo get-up
Jeremy and Jayme SayesThey too were wearing their good old tacky promo get-up, but if you notice Jayme is sporting the babies breath in her hair.
David and PamHere we have David and Patrick
LorraineLast but defiantly not least, our New Zealand friend, missionary and chaperon.
Lorraine was the chaperon for this years 2008 Tacky Promo.
One big happy family
My fellow work friends
Colby getting his groove on
Us dancing to a slow song (we had to always stay in character)
In the end we all voted for this years prom King and Queen. I am happy to announce that my Amish Prince got voted to be the King and his lovely queen was dress in duct tape. The Queens husband and I were the runners up, by one vote.
There is one last thing that I want to say....
I want to thank Emma for letting me borrow her family heirloom for this special event. This bonnet was actually worn by her grandmother.

I love your prom! If only that was real life. You've got to come out here and see real-life Amish people. We can stop for an interview. I know Colby would love that.
